Summary:
Monster is based on a true story of a female serial killer. Charlieze Theron plays, Aileen, a prostitute who slowly allows her life to slip away as she turns from murdering a man in self defense to ritually killing would be clients and then random men.

Why You Should See This Movie:
Theron was given best actress last year for this role and it was definitely well deserved. The part itself was an incredible opportunity for her and she delivered a worthy performance. Christina Ricci is overlooked, however, as she plays the part of the innocent sidekick very well. . The director did a great job at showing a natural progression down a destructive path of prostitution and violence.

Why You Shouldn't See This Movie:
The movie is interesting but I don?t think I would call it entertaining. It depicts a number of situations that will make you squirm in your seat. There is definitely n ot much about the film that is warm and fuzzy. Even the relationship between Aileen and Selby leaves you feeling uncomfortable. The sexual content, language, nudity, and violence make it not a movie for those attempting to avoid an R rated film.

Conclusion:
Monster is a film that adeptly shows how quickly someone can go from murder in self defense to a serial killer given the correct circumstance and motivation. It is a film that probably shouldn?t be viewed by those who are not into seeing brutal real life on the big screen.
