Summary:
Big Fish is a film about a son who returns home to be with his father who is going through the end stages of cancer. The son feels as though he has never been close to his father, Edward Bloom (Albert Finney) since his father loved to tell Big Fish stories throughout his life that always seemed too big to be true.

Why You Should See This Movie:
The acting in this film is superb with quality performances by Ewan McGregor as the young Edward Bloom, Albert Finney as the old Edward Bloom, and Allison Lohman as the young Edward Bloom?s girlfriend. The film is a little quirky and takes a certain open minded viewer to fully appreciate the filmmakers? intent. The movie cuts seamlessly between the young Edward and the old and the fish stories that Edward tells. The effects and art work of the film are incredible and contribute significantly to the feel of the movie. The plot is more than engaging as the incredible stories Edward tells take as many turns as one could imagine.

Why You Shouldn't See This Movie:
I think everyone should try this movie, but I can see how some people would miss the concept and feel like the movie is just plain weird.

Conclusion:
Big Fish is an extraordinary film that combines all the elements of filmmaking effectively to create an incredible experience, especially for fathers and sons.
