Review:

Summary:
Something?s Gotta Give is a romantic comedy with the twist of age. Jack Nicholson plays Harry Langer, a 63 year old bachelor whose taste is for women under 30. He has his share of short term relationships that are fairly meaningless until he meets one of his young companion?s mother ? Erica Berry played by Diane Keaton. Erica is initially insulted and disgusted with Harry?s affinity for younger women, but over time and given certain circumstances, she begins to feel differently.
Why You Should See This Movie:
Jack Nicholson is absolutely fabulous as always in this film. He delivers his typical hilarious and effective performance. The film seems to excel in some areas, especially when Jack and Diane are on the screen together.
Why You Shouldn't See This Movie:
Diane Keaton seemed to me as if she was so excited to be playing this role that she overacted on multiple occasions. I also struggled to see Keanu Reaves as anyone other than Neo from the Matrix. Another disturbing part of the film was the over 60 year old woman full frontal nudity scene, as well as the over 60 year old couple sex scene. I was also disappointed that in several different scenes, the use of a set and a blue screen was blatantly obvious. It wouldn?t take much to actually go out on location and film a scene, and it gives the movie such a more real feel to it. The story was a typical romantic comedy that wasn?t necessarily bad or good.
Conclusion:
Something?s Gotta Give is an average romantic comedy that fans of this genre should enjoy, otherwise probably not worth your time.
