Summary:
Aladdin is Disney's animated version of the classic tale of Aladdin (Lea Salonga) and his journey with the genie of the magic lamp. Aladdin is a common thief who steals his way around the city Agrabah who one day meets the princess of the city, Jasmine attempting to escape from the prison like life of royalty. The two hit it off immediately setting the stage for the latter part of the movie when Aladdin hides his true identity in order to marry Jasmine. Aladdin meets the genie (Robin Williams) when attempting to steal the lamp for the King's first in command who is attempting to overthrow the King. The genie and Aladdin become good friends as they work together to fight the mutiny as well as convince Jasmine that Aladdin is a prince.

Why You Should See This Movie:
This film was part of a string of box office blockbusters that Disney put out in the early nineties which included the Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and the Lion King. Aladdin had several successful components to it, but at it's heart was the overwhelming performance of Robin Williams as the genie. He created a character that was likable and funny as well as creating a multitude of memorable lines. The film is very entertaining with good material for both adults and kids to enjoy as well as presenting a good moral lesson that Disney's most successful films always do. The computer animation was pretty great for the time it was released, and the soundtrack was another huge success for Disney. The plot is straightforward and interesting and as stated above provides a good lesson to learn from for kids.

Why You Shouldn't See This Movie:
There really isn't any reason for you to not see Aladdin unless for some reason you are unwilling to watch animated films.

Conclusion:
Aladdin is another humongous success for Disney that creates yet another classic tale filled with great characters and music for kids to enjoy for a long time to come.
