Review:

Summary:
Far From Heaven is the story of a typical 1950?s family composed of a perfect little housewife (Julianne Moore), her hard working husband (Dennis Quaid), and their obedient children. Trouble comes when the husband decides he is gay and in the process of working out his feelings for his family, his wife begins to form a relationship with a black man (Dennis Haysbert).
Why You Should See This Movie:
Julianne Moore was nominated for best actress for this role, and while I firmly agree with the Academy in not giving her the award, she was pretty good in this film. Between her and Dennis Quaid, the acting was probably the best part of the movie.
Why You Shouldn't See This Movie:
I think with a better, more entertaining script, this film could have been pretty good, but as it stands, it ended up being pretty boring. The concept outlined above has good potential for an interesting movie, but for whatever reason, I was bored to tears. The story was way too slow, and not engaging in the least.
Conclusion:
While some may disagree with my opinion, I thought Far From Heaven was an incredibly boring film that really isn?t worth your time.
