Summary:
L.A. Confidential is a mystery/thriller about the Los Angeles Police Department in the early part of the 20th century. The corruption and greed that permeates the force is demonstrated by the backstabbing and conniving committed by several members of the department.

Why You Should See This Movie:
This film was a bit of a launching point for a lot of actors. Spacey, Crowe and Pearce were all actors who did much better after this film than they did before. The ensemble cast did a great job not only because of their talent, but the great script they had to work with. The story is presented well and does a good job at telling a story that is vague enough to create mystery but not too confusing.

Why You Shouldn't See This Movie:
The film does have a bit of profanity and violence that might offend some.

Conclusion:
L.A. Confidential is a truly entertaining film with a fabulous cast and an interesting story that is worth checking out on DVD.
