Summary:
Almost Famous is a drama about a young man in the 1960?s leaving his home at the age of 15 in order to pursue his dream to become a journalist. He sets out to write an article about a fictional rock band named Stillwater and in the process is exposed to a number of things (drugs, sex, and women) that he is shocked by. Kate Hudson plays a fan of the band that draws the attention of the young boy as well as the guitarist in the band (Billy Crudup).

Why You Should See This Movie:
Maybe the best part of this film is the real and inspective way the 60?s are represented through the eyes of a young man. It did a fabulous job at retelling not just some of the stories of the times, but rather captured the feel and mood of the country during a rocky time. Kate Hudson seems to shine in every scene she is in making the film much better.

Why You Shouldn't See This Movie:
Although the film did a wonderful job at describing the mood of society, the story it told was a bit boring and definitely not its strength. The movie also portrays some very mature themes of drugs, sex and rock and roll that may offend some people.

Conclusion:
Almost Famous is a film that does a fabulous job showing the audience the revolutionary time of the 1960?s in America through the eyes of a young man, but fails a bit in its shaky plot making it a decent rental.
