Summary:
V for Vendetta is a comic book movie adaptation about a rebellious character attempting to overthrow a corrupt government in the near future. Hugo Weaving plays the character known as V, who blows up a monument in London in attempt to get the attention of the public and inspire them to rise up against a government that has become so obtrusive that the general public's freedom is completely erradicated. V rescues a young woman (Natalie Portman) from the police when she is out after curfue and makes her his prodige.
Why You Should See This Movie:
I thought this film was awesome, actually the best comic book adaptation thus far. Not only was the action fabulous with great fight scenes and interesting effects, but the film made you think. Drawing comparisons to the current administration and their encroachments on our civil liberties, this film demonstrates the road a government takes when they claim to need special powers in order to combat a threat to the nation. Natalie Portman and Hugo Weaving do an excellent job acting creating great personalities and characters.
Why You Shouldn't See This Movie:
The only reason not to see this film is the graphic violence and occasional nudity that will bother some people, otherwise this is a great, worthwhile film.
Conclusion:
V for Vendetta is a great comic book movie that not only entertains with great action scenes, but will make you consider today's social structure and how easy it is for the government to take away our freedom.
