Review:

Summary:
Gosford Park is a drama set in England in the 1930?s exploring the interaction between the different classes of people namely the master servant relationship in a big home. The story surrounds a weekend get together of several rich guests at a prominent English citizen?s house. A mysterious murder takes place and the more intuitive guests and servants are able to figure out exactly what happened.
Why You Should See This Movie:
I have absolutely no patience for movies of this genre, and this one did nothing to change my mind.
Why You Shouldn't See This Movie:
In 2001 this film was nominated for Best Picture and the only reason I can think of is that the Academy was paid off; because this is one of the worst movies I have seen in several years. It is really too bad that an incredible cast like the one in this film had to be wasted on such an incredibly boring movie. The acting was decent, but the plot so painfully boring that I really didn?t care to watch it. The film starts very slow without any sort of catchy introduction and amazingly goes downhill from there. There is no continuity to the direction as scenes are haphazardly thrown together and the story is told so poorly that I was absolutely bored to tears.
Conclusion:
If you are into boring English movies, you may like this one, otherwise only watch this if you are having trouble sleeping.
