Review:

Summary:
Training Day is a cop/action/drama movie about a new narcotics agent (Ethan Hawke) learning the ropes with a seasoned veteran (Denzel Washington). Hawke is fresh out of school and wants to do things by the books with good morals. As his first day progresses, Denzel begins to show him that in order to catch drug criminals, rules have to be bent and sometimes broken. Hawke is very leery of breaking rules, and very uncomfortable with Denzel?s tactics.
Why You Should See This Movie:
Denzel Washington got his Academy Award for acting in this film which I thought was a little odd. He was incredible in this film, but better in others in which the Academy snubbed him. Hawke was pretty good as well, but this movie is clearly Denzel?s. The movie starts well and keeps you interested as you try to discover if Denzel?s character is a good cop that is just really good at his job, or if he is corrupt and given a lot of leniency by his superior?s. The film is put together well and gives you the intended feel of a cop?s struggle with drugs and criminals. The story was pretty good as mentioned above with an interesting and engaging plot.
Why You Shouldn't See This Movie:
If you are offended by drugs and violence, this film is definitely not for you, as it is very blunt and doesn?t try to be fake for the sake of Hollywood.
Conclusion:
If you can get past the violence and drugs, Training Day is a great film with good acting and an interesting plot that is worth seeing on DVD.
