Summary:
Million Dollar Baby is a boxing movie about Maggie (Hilary Swank) a middle aged woman hell bent on becoming a boxing champion. Her determination is evident with her constant training and hounding of Frankie (Clint Eastwood) who is currently training a male boxer headed towards a title. When Frankie?s boxer decides to switch to a new manager, Frankie gives in and begins training Maggie. The two develop a father/daughter relationship that fills a hole in Frankie?s life left by his daughter?s estrangement.

Why You Should See This Movie:
Million Dollar Baby is a truly remarkable film created by the incredibly talented Clint Eastwood. The acting is primarily from Swank, Eastwood and Morgan Freeman who plays a washed up boxer in Frankie?s gym. The three are all equally impressive in their portrayals of interesting and intriguing characters. The direction by Eastwood is fabulous, bringing a fabulous story to the screen artistically and with skill, however, not quite up to his monumental achievement last year with Mystic River. The film is very entertaining and is broken down into three distinct pieces that are put together very well. The story is incredible with depth and power that takes a while to fully comprehend. The twist 2/3?rds of the way through the film was surprising and transitioned well into the third piece of the film.

Why You Shouldn't See This Movie:
If you like movies, this film is worth watching. I can?t think of much reason to not see this film.

Conclusion:
Million Dollar Baby is a sports movie that explores themes well beyond sports that will leave you thinking well after the credits roll.
