Summary:
A Hitchhiker?s Guide to the Galaxy is a movie interpretation of the book by Douglas Adams about Arthur Dent, a common human, who is one of only two humans saved after the destruction of the Earth. He is saved by his friend Ford (an alien on Earth studying it to write about it in the Hitchhiker?s Guide) and they start off on an adventure that takes them across the galaxy to the end of the universe.

Why You Should See This Movie:
The acting in the film is surprisingly good considering the unknown cast. All involved did a great job at bringing the book?s characters to life accurately. The film, if you have read the book, is highly entertaining a lot because of the completely bizarre story and also because of the insightful point of view it brings. The special effects were pretty incredible as well, with crazy aliens, huge scenes and the crazy ideas in the book brought to the big screen with impressive accuracy. The story is one that is very disjointed in the book, but the screenwriters were able to maintain the craziness while adding a love story that somehow fit and seemed appropriate.

Why You Shouldn't See This Movie:
I had heard before seeing this movie that reading the book was not required before seeing this film, but I completely disagree. Having read the book first, I was prepared for the bizarre and crazy story and was able to appreciate the comedy much better had I not seen the film. Therefore, if you haven?t read the book, do so before seeing this movie or you will be too caught off guard to appreciate its brilliance.

Conclusion:
A Hitchhiker?s Guide to the Galaxy is a fabulous interpretation of Douglas Adams? book filled with wild adventure, crazy comedy and an interesting and unique story that is unparalleled in today?s movie industry.
