Summary:
Charlie and the chocolate factory is a family film remaking the classic tale of Willy Wonka (Johnny Depp) and his factory. In this version, a poor, destitute, young boy (Freddie Highmore) is infatuated with the idea of finding one of Wonka?s golden tickets inviting him on a tour of the Factory. He and four other children from around the world set off on the tour and begin to realize that Willy Wonka is indeed a fairly strange character.

Why You Should See This Movie:
Johnny Depp shines again in this Tim Burton film bringing an incredible acting talent to the screen like no one else can. He creates a truly unique character in Wonka and one that is memorable for sure. Freddie Highmore as well as the rest of the cast also gives fabulous performances. The other great part of the film is the directing and computer effects for the film. Tim Burton is always impressive and a project like this allows him to be very creative. The inside of the chocolate factory is also visually stunning and worth the price of admission.

Why You Shouldn't See This Movie:
The weakness of this film I thought was its slow story telling through the middle of the film. The movie starts with a bang and ends with a great moral message, but the in between parts were kind of slow.

Conclusion:
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a good family film that your children will enjoy especially on the big screen.
